My Little Superman

Oh how my little boy has grown!!

Recently, Joshua has discovered the amazing world of superheroes. He wants to do nothing but pretend he is Spiderman or Superman and even sometimes both. Today, all he did was wear his Superman constume fighting anything in his path. I could not help but laugh and cringe at every battle he tried to conquer. My boy is officially growing up and I can't help but love watching every minute of it.

Now I know as a mom these things are supposed to be encouraged in your boys. But it is hard to accept that the same boy who would fall asleep in my arms now wants to rough house, pretend he can fly, look for worms in the dirt, jump in mud puddles, etc.

Joshua is my little Superman!

Pinkerton Park and Fort Ganger

What a special time we had as a family last night!

We took Joshua and Aby to the park for a picnic. We had such a wonderful bonding time. We decided after we ate that we would climb up to an overlook at a civil war fort in the park. It was so much fun!!

Joshua was our little explorer. He was always 10 steps ahead of us ready to see what was around the next corner. Aby being our little girl wanted a ride on Daddy's shoulders most of the time, which was precious.

This is one of the neat things about living in Franklin. There are so many places where the civil war was fought, every step you take around Franklin is most likely the same place a soilder stepped many years ago. I am always in awe and saddened by that fact.

All that to say, it was a great night of family fun just being out of the house, away from email, tv, and phone calls. These times will always have a special place in my heart.

Some of these pictures uploaded without as much color as the orignals, if you would like a copy of any of them let me know and I will email them to you.

Joshua's Last Day of School.

Today is Joshua's last day of his very first year of school. I can't belive that the year has already past by. Joshua has grown so much this year.

It is such a strange feeling to feel happiness and sadness at the same time. As a parent you feel this so often, with every accomplishment there is an underlying sadness that your little ones are growning up. So as I am so excited that Joshua has finished is first year, I am so sad to know that he is another year closer to Kindergarten. Time goes by way too fast.

Joshua, Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you. You are an amazing, smart boy. Thank you for being so wonderful!! You brighten up our lives and we are so thankful for you. Congratulations, bud!!!!!

Here are a few pics from the first day of school and the last:

My Sweet Mother's Day

I have to say I have the sweetest, most loving family in the whole world. Brandon and the kids made my mother's day so special.

My sweet husband made me feel like a queen. I woke up to Brandon and Joshua making waffles, which were sooooo yummmy. We spent the morning just being together and getting ready for the rest of the day. That afternoon we went to my sisters to grill out… we had a great time. The kids played with the dogs and even ran through the sprinkler with their Aunt Nenny. They had so much fun. After, we came home Joshua and Aby played while Brandon made a cake and dinner for me. It was SOOOOOOO good. He made stuffed mushrooms, stuffed chicken and a raspberry chocolate cake. It was the best meal I have ever had. Thank you for all your hard work baby!!

Brandon has such a way of making me feel so loved. I am so thankful for my sweet husband and all he does for our family. I love you, baby. Thank you for all that you do!

Pretty Girl

Here are a few pics of our pretty girl:

A Blessing

For a couple of weeks now we have had the pleasure of hosting a morning dove family. This is the second birds nest that we have had at our house and it is such a joy to watch. Mama and Daddy bird built their nest up under the roof in our gutter in the front entry way, right where we can watch them grow.

The kids have had so much fun watching the birds. Just a few days ago the eggs hatched and two baby birds born. What a joy!! God's creation is amazing!! I was able to get a picture of one of the baby birds nuzzled up to it's mommy...it was just precious!

Blake vs. Aby

Brandon and I have really gotten into American Idol this year and our favorite contestant is Blake Lewis. Well, last week Blake sang Bon Jovi's You Give Love a Bad Name...Brandon and I loved it and so did Aby. As soon as it came on she started dancing and doing a little beat boxing of her own. Which do you think is better Blake or our little American Idol?
