So Far Behind-Joshua's Birthday

I am so far behind on blogging, so here I am trying to catch up. I am starting back at Joshua's Birthday. It was such a fun Birthday...Brandon's Mom came to town to celebrate with us and we had a wonderful time.

On Saturday Brandon's mom, Brandon, and I spent the morning filling up 450 water balloons for the big water balloon war the kids were going to have that afternoon. Joshua had such a great time at his Transformer birthday party. He had about 14 of his little friends there to celebrate with him. They all seemed to have a great time playing in the water, having a water balloon war, and eating cake.

I can't believe that my little boy is 5 already. We are so proud of the little man he is becoming. We are so blessed to have him as our boy!

Our little Bumbo Girl

Isabel has grown so much in the past few months and one thing Brandon and I have noticed about her is that she LOVES to sit up and watch her brother and sister play, no matter how tired she is. So this past weekend, we bought the infamous Bumbo (this was not around when we had Joshua and Aby, but would have been so helpful). Isabel enjoys her little seat, especially because she can see her big brother and sister. Here are some pics of her:

Till the Lord Comes

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12

The AP recently released these photos of a native tribe in the Amazon Basin of the Brazil-Peru border (These are pulled from FoxNews.com). What’s exciting about these pictures is that this is another reminder of the need for the Gospel to go out to all nations (Mt 28.16). Christ will not return until all tribes, nations, tongues are represented in Heaven, so let’s not forget the charge our Lord left us with and go out to share and preach the Gospel to all who have not heard the Name of Christ!

O, pray with me that these, and the countless others who do not know their deep need for Christ will hear the Word of God, that workers would go out into the Harvest and share the love of Christ with them.

These people do not know the Lord, so pack your bags, leave the comforts behind, and beautify your feet! (Isa 52:7, Rom 10:15)

Is 'The Shack' Heresy?

Have you read William P. Young’s 'The Shack'? If not, don’t. If so, how did you walk away from the book? Did it make you feel good about God? (Too often, in this postmodern world, people are lured by what makes them 'feel good', and often, these are the traps of something other than God.) I think that is the aim of Young when he tells the story of a man who is angry with God for the death of his daughter. Young goes on to describe an encounter with “God” at a shack where all the main character’s notions of God are shattered.

And, quite frankly, following Young’s theology will leave you shattered as well. There is no gel, no glue that holds his theories up, for the Bible clearly calls each of the book’s theological points into question. The Bible is the clear authority in our lives, and no believer should go outside the Bible to find any revelation of God. He revealed Himself to us through His Word, not the fanciful notions of the postmodern’s desire to see “God” in the songs and writings of a confused generation(s).

If you catch my tone, you’re right, this book makes me upset. It hinges on the edge of heresy, and many people applaud it for its freshness. I hope you will take a minute to read Tim Challies’s review as he dives deeper into the theological mistakes of Young. And, I hope you don’t fall for this book’s design to plunge its readers into a false relationship with the Almighty God.

My Pretty Flower Girl

Today, Aby and I went outside and picked some flowers from our garden....Aby LOVES flowers. Here is a picture I took of our pretty flower girl:

Joshua's Last Day of School

Can you believe it?? Joshua's last day of school...We will officially by the end of the day have a kindergartener in our house. I have very many mixed emotions, but most of all...I am just so proud of my boy. Here are some pics taken before school this morning as well as some from other first/last days.
